The Cheer Awards ("we", "us", "our") operates cheerawards.org. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information we collect

Account info — name and email when you sign in, create a nomination, or RSVP.
Mobile phone number — only if you choose to opt in to SMS updates.
Nominations & votes — the content you submit and how you interact with the site.
Technical data — IP address, device, and browser data for security and analytics.

3. SMS / text messaging

When you check the SMS opt-in box on our sign-up or nomination form and provide your mobile number, you consent to receive recurring text messages from The Cheer Awards related to nominations, voting reminders, finalist announcements, event reminders, and winner notifications. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel and HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors that support the SMS program — such as our messaging platform provider — is permitted only to deliver the messages you requested. All other categories of personal information are governed by the rest of this policy and may be shared as described below; this exclusion applies to mobile opt-in data and consent.

4. How we use information

To run the awards: accept nominations, tally votes, notify finalists.
To send you email or SMS updates you have opted in to.
To prevent fraud, abuse, and ballot stuffing.
To improve the site and event experience.

5. Sharing

We share information only with vendors that operate the site on our behalf (hosting, email, SMS delivery, analytics) and only as needed to provide the service. We do not sell personal information. We do not share mobile opt-in data or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

6. Your choices

Email — unsubscribe link in every message, or email hello@cheerawards.org.
SMS — reply STOP to any message to stop. Reply HELP for help.
Access / deletion — email us to request a copy or deletion of your data.

7. Children

The Cheer Awards is intended for users 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here with a new "last updated" date.
